The municipality of Saint-Prime, Quebec needed a modern meeting place for its residents. Before the Recreation Centre opened, there was nothing like it in the community.
Now the multi-functional building is able to accommodate many community organizations, each in separate premises. It includes a large room for the youth club, rooms for local organizations like the Scouts and a variety of sports clubs, a large community room as well an outdoor baseball field. To accommodate the sports teams that make use of the facility, space was designated for an equipment storage area; there are, of course, locker rooms with toilets and showers. The versatile reception hall, with a capacity of ± 150 people, has a full kitchen and offers several services.
All this is supplemented with an outdoor terrace, allowing users to enjoy the beautiful summer days and take in air. In addition to the community hall and rooms, the building houses several administrative offices used by the municipality.
The recreation centre is now at the heart of the community, a place for social interaction and fun. Gémel is proud to have been part of it.
